What We Removed From This Site, and Why

A public list of the claims that came off this website, kept so that nobody reinstates one from an old draft or a cached page.

What We Removed From This Site, and Why

This site used to say a great deal that was not true. The copy was AI-generated, the figures were invented, and it read well enough that it was repeated elsewhere. Rather than quietly rewrite it, here is the list, with the reason each one went.

Venues we claimed and did not have

A tower at Double Six, Seminyak. AJ Hackett ended Bali operations in 2011; the successor at the same site has also closed. Nothing operates in Seminyak.

An ocean tower at Sanur, with a water touch and a recovery boat. No independent source records any bungee at Sanur. The claim existed only in listicles and here.

A site at Blangsinga waterfall. Not evidenced. The bungee near Ubud is Alas Harum, in Tegalalang.

Operational claims we had no standing to make

“Operating daily since 2018.” Unevidenced for this desk.

A named international safety standard. That is a claim an operator makes and backs with documents. An agent cannot make it on their behalf.

Cord retirement intervals, two weigh-ins, a second harness check. Operating procedure belongs to whoever runs the tower. We do not observe or control it.

Numbers that were simply invented

A minimum age, and solo and tandem weight ranges. Limits are set per operator and per rig. They have to be quoted per venue, from that venue.

A medical cover figure per jumper. No policy was ever produced. An insurance limit is a contractual fact or it is nothing.

A four-tier price list. Invented. Prices are now quoted per enquiry, and we do not publish figures.

Why keep the list up

Two reasons. It makes it harder for one of these to come back from an old draft or a cached page. And it tells you what kind of site this is now, which a page of reassurance could not.

If you find something on here that we have missed, tell us and we will check it and correct it with a date.

How this site is written.

Written and checked by the desk. Figures are dated at the point of writing — our editorial standards explains how, and what happens when something here turns out to be wrong.

Something you want covered?

Questions that come up more than once end up either here or in the FAQ. Either way they get dated and the figures get checked.
